Of Monsoons and Coconut trees
Its getting stronger by the year, the monsoons. The winds were so powerful this year that it was almost cyclonic. Many of the large trees along Park Avenue that were an oasis during the scorching summer heat, simply toppled across the street this year. Its pouring so hard, i feel like a seed thats rotting, never to get my chance to see the light of day! Well, i've run out of canvas, and i cant get myself to go through the rains all the way to get them. Saju, my friend who now lives in Cambodia, came home yday and told me how much she misses the monsoons, the wet coconut leaves, the damp terracotta tiles, the mud roads, and the verdant aura about the place. Everyone says "Ah, nothing like the monsoons in Kerala". But it is true, the frames of nature just after a shower are truly awesome. She wants me to gift her a painting that will remind her of Kerala. But i have to wait till i can buy canvas, thts till Monday, but am working on the sketch. Hope to post it here when done. These are again from the Emerald Collection. The first, i called it nothing but 'Monsoon'.And am very happy it now rests in the home of a wonderful Swedish lady who bought it as a token of her stay in Kerala for a few years.

Hi Sree,
Your paintings are outstanding. I loiked the nature based greens best. I don't know anything about art.. But, all i can say is.. I never saw paintings so soothing and so natural. I never owned any paintings. But after looking into your paintings, I desperately feel like treasuring atleast one of those which I can feel proud of. Do you mind letting me know how I can buy one of these? I am sure all of those are like your heart & soul. But, I dare to ask about buying as I see some of those are "available/sold". It would be great if you can let me know any other email id where I can reach you to get a chance to see the complete collection and see if I can afford any of it :-)
I would be so happy if you can send me your contact details at
praggi_k@yahoo.com / pragathi.telu@genworth.com
Accept my apologies if I offend in anyway by asking for the paintings to sell.
warm regards
